The Environmental Professional will primarily be responsible for supporting the maintenance and operation of the remote networks used in the surface water and storm water monitoring programs. The Environmental Professional will also assist in providing training to field technicians and technical support to program policy makers and stakeholders. In addition, the Environmental Professional will coordinate the maintenance and installation of telemetry equipment.   This position requires the reading and interpretation of federal regulations, preparation of technical reports, and peer review of data deliverables. The Environmental Professional must have excellent verbal and written communication skills for disseminating information to team members, clients, and stakeholders. The Environmental Professional will ensure all activities and operations are performed in a safe and deliberate manner; maintain required safety, security and operational training; ensure procedural and regulatory compliance; and make safety and security an integral part of every task, including taking the necessary steps to pause or stop work if continuing the job is unsafe or compromises security.

If you are interested in education and early childhood development with Indigenous values in mind, this is a great opportunity for you to gain practical skills and experience. Support SHI staff with various summer program activities, including their STEAM camp, Latseen Running Camp, Latseen Leadership Academy, and Latseen Hoop Camp. This includes setting up camps, supporting and working with students throughout the camp, and cleaning up after the camps. In addition, interns support the student evaluations of their camp experience. You will gain skills to plan, coordinate, and implement various education programs. You will be able to supervise children of differing ages, ensuring their safety, development, growth, skill-achievement, and general well-being at different educational programming.   This position will take place onsite at the SHI office in Juneau, AK. T2S is currently seeking an Environmental Professional to support the Groundwater Monitoring Project underthe N3B Los Alamos Legacy Cleanup Contract (LLCC). The Environmental Professional will conduct pressure transducer operations and maintenance activities including the extraction and installation of transducers in wells, downloading data, and setting transducers to a manually measured water levels while completing field forms that are checked in the office, scanned and filed as appropriate. Duties will include monitoring well packer pressures and associated pressure cylinder hookups and transportation. Other duties will include operation and maintenance of remote telemetry units.   The Environmental Professional will ensure all activities and operations are performed in a safe and deliberate manner; will maintain required safety, security and all operational training; assure procedural and regulatory compliance; and make safety and security an integral part of every task, including taking the necessary steps to pause or stop work if continuing the task is unsafe or compromises security.
