Specific projects will include selecting a behavioral health related topic, conducting research, preparing a presentation, and facilitating Wellness Wednesday for an online audience of tribal citizens. You will also engage in, promote, and demonstrate the online Culture Heals program to community partners as a tool for helping individuals and families toward their healing journey. This summer, you will select a special project within the Behavioral Services department and present during Tlingit & Haida Lunchtime Chats.

Join Central Council of the Tlingit and Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska (CCTHITA) as the Youth Engagement Specialist intern this summer! You will be part of the Tribal Family Youth Services team and help build culturally responsive programming for youth of all ages. This internship will give you opportunity to plan, develop, and implement culturally based curricula. You will learn how to support and measure academic and social emotional wellbeing of Alaska Native youth that you will work with. You will learn how to design programs and put together budgets for youth engagement programming.
Specific projects will include working on CCTHITA’s Haa Latzeen Fitness Concepts, a culturally based fitness course for high school students, and Haa Aani Ka.aat Kugaxtooteen, a STEAM camp for second to fifth grade students.
