Managed Business Solutions is seeking a Hydrologist for a full time to join our team with the Bureau of Indian Affairs on-site at the Flathead Indian Irrigation Project (FIIP) Polson, Montana to support the BIA’s Regional Irrigation program.   While having a primary focus on hydrology and the technical mastery of its utilization to support a irrigation project, this position conveys responsibilities for all aspects of the irrigation program including, but not limited to, troubleshooting irrigation project delivery issues, design and implementation of new or maintenance of existing irrigation infrastructure.  In addition, assist and advise the federal regional staff on policy advisement, safety, design, development, and maintenance of all things irrigation and hydrology related.  The individual who takes this role will be excellent at public speaking as well as developing complex, multi-disciplinary documents that require nuanced and specialized analytical and potentially modeling-based information. Learn about environmental stewardship, Native land management, and cultural artifact repatriation as the Natural Resources & Environmental Technician Intern. You will spend days outdoors, hiking to field sites and gaining on-the-job training in land management and water sampling techniques throughout Southeast Alaska. You will take part in the management of the tribe’s community greenhouse and garden, designed with the mission to help create food sovereignty. You will also learn about the repatriation of cultural artifacts at museums in accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). This position will be based and primarily take place in-person at the Edward K. Thomas building in Juneau, AK. The intern will travel monthly to Haines, AK, for onsite water sampling projects. The intern may also travel to museums for NAGPRA consultations
